Based in the UK, focusing on crafting beautiful memories for your wedding day. Huge believer of documentary, story-telling and natural approach of photography style.
Tulum incredible landscape and architecture make it the perfect place for a destination wedding, and it is the kind of place that can be your wedding and honeymoon all in one. If you are thinking about eloping or having your wedding in Tulum, here are some of my favourite wedding venues to get you started.
For the height of luxury and one of the most intimate places in Tulum, Nest is the place to go. As one of the original properties on Tulum Beach, Nest boasts a villa with 4 beds and 12 rooms in the hotel itself. With access to a beach limited to those staying at Nest, or on a first come first served basis, you are in for a relaxing time surrounded by your loved ones. Why not rent the entire place for 3 days, utilise their private transportation, and enjoy what they have to offer?
A blend of Mayan history and modern sustainability, Nest is an amalgamation of nature’s beauty and man’s craftsmanship. With top-rated food and drink, events and activities, your wedding can be everything you have ever imagined and more.
Akiin is an intimate place designed for couples who want peace and quiet. Not only does this venue overlook the sea and the quiet beach, but they have an entire staff who can help you plan your wedding from start to finish. With 20 years of experience in hospitality, events, and weddings, you can rest assured that your wedding will be beautiful and perfect, much like its surroundings. From here you can explore the town of Tulum, cycle around the area, go snorkelling, and be immersed in nature. To view the wedding that I shot in this venue, see here.
Along Papaya Beach, the Papaya Playa Project worked with Design Hotels to create a new form of hospitality that merges Mayan architecture with the beach and the jungle behind it. The project is an exciting wedding venue as they have created breathtaking areas around their project for you to confess your love to each other. With spaces for as large or as intimate a wedding party as you would like, you are bound to create the wedding of your dreams here. The project offers many events and activities throughout the year that you can incorporate into your wedding holiday, from music to wellness and yoga, to food and drink.
Located in the secluded Mayan Jungle, you and your guests can enjoy loft-style villas with their own pools and private jungle gardens. Hotel Bardo is an adult-only venue, created for those that want to unwind and decompress. Here you can be immersed in the culture of the Mayans while you celebrate sunsets, and meditate your worries away. With a spa and healing centre, you will leave your stay here closer to nature, your loved ones, and yourself.
Nestled between the Mayan Jungle and the Caribbean Sea, Habitas Tulum is a sustainable sanctuary, with rooms ranging from Ocean to Jungle, to Pool. Their menu is ‘an ode to Spanish cuisine with Moorish influences’. A big part of staying with Habitas is to take part in their experiences. From music to wellness classes, art, and culture workshops to eFoliing. Habitas are very centred in their community and give back as much as they can, they take care of their environment and the history of Tulum.
